A day to celebrate the writing instruments we know & love (official website here) and promote their use! If you've been looking for an excuse to buy a new fountain pen, this is a golden opportunity! There are lots of local pen shops that would appreciate your patronage, so please consider them, as well as the great online stores out there; we're lucky to have so many wonderful pen stores in the Vancouver area...

My new Retro 51 Mickey Vintage Deluxe ballpoint (yes, a ballpoint!)
...and my new Retro 51 'Surfin' rollerball (I know, I know...), a limited edition (mine is #0757/1261). I asked the folks at Retro51 about the significance (if any) of the # of pens made, and they said it was in honour of the Beach Boys' first hit,"Surfin'", which came out in December 1961 (12/61). A very cool rollerball...
