Many thanks to Christopher for sending in several brand-new reviews of some vintage beauties he found recently, including this lovely set which came with a case...

Christopher writes: "It is not often that you come across a vintage pen and pencil set housed in such an attractive ivory pearl plastic hinged box. Nor as well made as the one that came with these Moore’s Company ladies writing instruments. Definitely with the female in mind, and which would be right at home on any lady’s dresser.

The fountain is a dainty flat top finished in a cream pearl and jet. A lever filler with a black section sporting a rather flexy 14K Gold Moore’s company branded nib. The fittings are all Gold filled and the clipless cap sports an attractive Gold banding. Surprisingly enough, this pen posted at 5 ½ inches which sits extremely well in the hand but caps back to 4 inches to, in turn, fit neatly into its case. The matching mechanical pencil is also very well made and appointed with a long Gold filled point and short ribbon ring top cap. The pen and pencil case measures 4 ¾ inches in length by 1 ¼ inches wide by ½ of an inch deep and has a rather impressive hinged opening and closing cap. The condition -other then a mild discolouring- is brilliant and both pen and pencil are fine writers when applied to paper. I am happy indeed to add this impressive Moore’s company set to my collection."

We'll be featuring more of Christopher's recent finds this week and next, so watch this space!
