November meeting info---last meeting of 2017!

Date: Thursday November 16, 2017.
Please note: since we don't meet in December, this will be the last VPC meeting in 2017.
Time: 6:00pm to 8:45pm
Place: the TERRY SALMAN branch of the Vancouver Public Library, located at 4575 Clancy Loranger Way, Vancouver (by Queen Elizabeth Park & Nat Bailey Stadium). The library is located on the lower level of the Hillcrest Community Center, and our meeting will take place in the library's meeting room. No food allowed in the library, but covered drinks are ok. There is a snack bar (with seating) in the building and a vending machine where you can grab a bite to eat before the meeting. Info on how to get to the library is at the end of this blog post.

Topic/Theme:What pen-related gifts did you get for Christmas/the holiday season in the past, and what pen stuff would you like to get this year...and why? (note: this includes ALL writing instruments---fountain pens, ballpoints, rollerballs, pencils----as well as pen cases, inks, etc).
No limit on how many things you bring in. If you didn't receive any as gifts, but bought them for yourself as a self-gift, that's ok. If you didn't get/buy any pen-related gifts, that's ok too, but please tell us which ones you'd like to get. Many thanks to Mido for the theme idea!
As always, Newest (pen-related) Acquisitions is always our secondary topic, so if you've purchased/received any new stuff recently, please bring it for us to see.

We will be continuing our (completely voluntary) Pen & Ink Swap/Sale at November's meeting so if you have any pens and/or inks you wish to trade/sell, please bring them with you. Ink can be in bottles or cartridges----and the bottles do not have to be full. If you want to trade/buy, please bring your pens and/or inks for trade and/or cash to buy items.

HOW TO GET TO THE LIBRARY: For those of you taking transit, take the #33 Bus (which says "29th Avenue Station" on it) that leaves from the SW corner of Cambie & King Edward (ie. directly across the street from the Canada Line "King Edward" Skytrain station) and that bus will take you right to Hillcrest Park, where the Hillcrest Community Center (and library) is located. The bus leaves every 10 minutes during rush hour. The library stop is only 3 stops away---ie. after leaving the King Edward & Cambie stop, the next stop will be Cambie & 27th, then Cambie & 29th, and then the Hillcrest Community Center stop (where you should exit). For those of you driving, there is free parking at the Hillcrest Community Center.

Hope you can make it to the meeting! No need to RSVP---just drop in!
