At the meeting, Christopher said his Mickey Mouse fountain pen was made by Ingersoll, but upon closer inspection, he noticed that it was, in fact, made by Inkograph. Christopher said that there was a Mickey Mouse fountain pen made by Ingersoll, but that it was made much later (in the late 1940s) than the Inkograph one. Here's the advertisement for this later model that Christopher sent, along with this information:
Earlier this year, the original version of Mickey (seen in the Disney short "Steamboat Willie") entered the public domain ... and sure enough, a fountain pen was immediately produced with him on it --- the Benu 'Euphoria' "Steamboat Master"! Mickey's dog Pluto will enter the public domain in 2026, and Mickey's pal Donald Duck will follow suit in 2030, so hopefully we'll see them on some fountain pens, too.
Our thanks to Christopher for the photos. We'll be featuring a few vintage Waterman fountain pens of his in the coming days, so watch for them here!
